The Federal Government has cleared the air on claims of hidden fees for passport applicants in the United Kingdom.
The FG says there are no extra charges for Nigerian passport applicants in the UK
Applicants have been advised to use only official channels and published fees
The Federal Government has stated that there are no extra charges attached to the Nigerian passport application process in the United Kingdom.
According to the clarification, the official fees for passport applications remain as published, and applicants are not required to pay anything beyond the set rates.
The government warned that any demand for money outside the recognised channels should be treated with suspicion.
What applicants should know about the Nigerian passport in the UK
Applicants have been advised to apply only through the official Nigeria Immigration Service portal and recognised centres, and to confirm the current published fee before making any payment.
They were also urged to keep their payment receipts and reference numbers, and to be wary of anyone requesting cash to “speed up” the process.
