Canadian country is active and thriving -- but it could use a little more recognition. Enter Emma Kade and her new single, "Blue Collar Man."
Hitting the scene with her debut album in 2015, Kade has continued to make waves in the Canadian country and pop scene for a decade now. Along the way, she has racked up quite a few accolades.
Hailing from the small town of Creston, part of the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Kade received the Kootenay music award for her collaboration "Until My Heart Quits" with gospel singer Terrance Richmond. The recognition from this song bridged her into opening up for Canadian country music star Dean Brody.
With her new single, "Blue Collar Man" rides upon the wave of all this momentum and then some. Continuing Kade's standout performance that has highlighted Canada's country scene, the song is a tribute to the salt of the earth people she has grown up around.

"I have many blue collar men in my family, including my husband. When I was rehearsing for a show, the commotion of logging trucks around a nearby sawmill inspired me to look past the noise and lean into the moment as a song idea that later became 'Blue Collar Man'–my own tribute to the hard-working people who are the backbones of many rural communities," Kade states.
That's not the whole story with this song, however, as it was also a highly anticipated release for her fans. The song started with a single chorus that Kade shared over social media. The response to this excerpt was so positive, that she finally put a studio version together. The glamorous single that you can listen to today is the result of those efforts.
An accompanying music video has also been released in support of the single. The video is reminiscent of popular country artists such as Shania Twain: a stated major influence for Kade. The video keeps it simple, showing her cruising around and playing guitar in one of the legendary chevy trucks that are the chosen steed for the blue collar men in the song.
Kade will be performing at the Invermere Brewing company in Invermere, Canada on Friday November 21st, where attendees will likely hear the new number.
