"Scrap Book" Is The New Single From Isabelle Fries
When the epidemic struck her senior year at the University of Southern California, Fries was a senior. However, her kind nature and love for music have not faded.
Rather than being your standard pop star, she's been working on initiatives that combine music and service since her previous album.
Isabelle Fries is not just a rising star in the art world, but she's also a passionate educator. Isabelle is the real-life "Hannah Montana," juggling a singing career with her work as a teacher in Uganda and Colorado.
Isabelle has been compared to Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, and Maggie Rogers by Perez Hilton and others. It's no wonder that her raspy voice has a definite Nora Jones "Jazz" influence, as she started singing ancient Jazz tunes with her acting instructor at the tender age of 9. A wonderful "Lumineers"-like tone is emerging in her songs as well.
"Scrapbook" is a song that asks you to embrace everything of life, even the horrible memories that have caused so much anguish. Grammy-winning, multi-platinum producer/mixer Rob Chiarelli is leading her LA-based music team.
Coldplay-like melodies are a sign of her maturing, and her folk-pop style is ripening like a fine vintage red wine.
"Scrapbook is a narrative of losing someone dear to you and the sensation of slipping away from your actual self," wrote Seth Baer, who has a strong musical connection with Fries.
"It's the emotion of letting go of your past, nostalgia, simpler times, to finally go on with life, quieting the commotion around you and combating what's within," She writes.
Isabelle hopes to use her passion for music and international volunteer work to bring people together and make a positive impact on the world. It is her belief that music is a fundamental human need that connects us with our inner self.
This song for me is about longing for the past and the all encompassing feeling of nostalgia, emotions we almost all surely experience", says Fries. "Yet at the same time, it's also about wanting more for your life and knowing that you are capable, even if it means having to fight off the demons in your head, feeling rather than going numb, and that internal battle to get to where you long and belong to be.
