Lone Deer Laredo, Paola Suhonen (Ivana Helsinki) and Olli Happonen (New Silver Girl) are back with a brand new single called Somewhere Down the Last Road. It's a folk-pop love ballad about two people who never expressed their love to one another in real life reuniting on their deathbeds.

Lone Deer Laredo is a Finnish folk duet. When Paola was a kid, she wore Laredo jeans to school every day and daydreamed about the red-haired raspberry guy and road vacations. Big Brother Olli had a close deer buddy who lived in the forest; Olli knew that his sister Paola was out there someplace.

It took a long time, a lot of yearning, a lot of distance, and a lot of changing seasons before people who had previously known one other could be reunited. Ivana Helsinki was formed while Paola worked on her feature films and penned children's books. Over time, Ivana Helsinki established itself as the preeminent centre for Scandinavian design and art.

After meeting in a Helsinki pub some years ago, Gordon Raphael and Olli have been working together on a Rock Band project with the famed producer Brad Jones, who has been recording in Nashville (Josh Rouse, Dolly Parton, Hayes Carll).

Lone Deer Laredo vol. 2 /7 will be published in March, and Chris Carmichael (Taylor Swift, Buddy Guy, Lionel Richie) plays strings on Somewhere Down the Last Road.

Songwriting that incorporates aspects from both Eastern European and American folklore has resulted in artful, delicate, and nuanced music. The duo's musical-filmographic realm is heavily influenced by visuals. It's all Loveland ballads, songs of loneliness, music from dark magic woods, bright cotton fields, and the charming allure of the roads in Lone Deer Laredo.

In December 2018 and February 2020, they recorded their two first albums, Vol.1 and Vol.2 (out of a series of 7) in Nashville, Tennessee, with Brad Jones, a Grammy-winning producer (Josh Rouse, Dolly Parton etc.).

Their first LP was produced by Chris Carmichael (formerly of Lionel Richie and Taylor Swift) and Jim Hoke (formerly of Lone Deer Laredo) (Emmylou Harris, Paul McCartney, Van Morrison, The Beach Boys, Joan Baez). Ivana Helsinki Records released the albums in March 2019 and December 2020, respectively.

Additionally, Paola and Olli have been doing substantial art on a number of different fronts recently. Summer of 2021 they shot Paola's first feature film and road movie, as well as arranged Helsinki's Superwood art and music festival.

For his indie rock band New Silver Girl, Olli is also working on new songs produced by Gordon Raphael at Abbey Road Studios in London throughout the summer of 2022.
