Hertfordshire DIY artist Mark Garvey pulls zero punches on his new hardcore punk single, “In a World Full of Sheerans, Be More Macklemore.” Operating as a one-man band out of a garden shed, Garvey unconventionally constructs his abrasive tracks entirely inside Adobe Premiere Pro video editing software. That cut-and-splice approach translates directly into the music’s manic momentum: relentless, rapid rhythmic pounding and heavily distorted progressions push forward without pause, eventually detonating into a chaotic, high-energy climax.

Lyrically, Garvey zeroes in on the ideological contrast between Ed Sheeran and Macklemore over public solidarity with Palestine, using the fallout to tear apart the illusion of neutrality in popular culture. To Garvey, fence-sitting during a humanitarian crisis is a calculated, profit-driven surrender masquerading as an ethical high ground. The performance is confrontational, raw, and fiercely rebellious, demanding that creators discard self-preserving silence and openly throw their weight behind liberation movements.
Mark Garvey Rages on “In a World Full of Sheerans, Be More Macklemore”
In an era where mainstream culture routinely sands down its sharpest edges to protect commercial appeal, Garvey delivers an abrasive wake-up call that begs an unsettling question: what good is holding a massive platform if preserving it requires your absolute silence?
