Tim Maia Tribute Collective is a 10-piece band playing Brazilian funky grooves inspired by Tim Maia and other iconic Brazilian artists.
The project started in 2018 when The Jazz Cafe commissioned Kita, the band leader, to prepare a Brazilian tribute show. It was a sold-out night, and since then the band has been performing regularly across live venues and events.
A night of soul, groove, and timeless Brazilian funk comes alive with this high-energy live show celebrating Tim Maia’s music. The band delivers a fresh yet faithful take on his catalogue, from deep soul ballads to funk and disco-infused rhythms, creating a vibrant experience that connects with audiences.
