Not only did she recently release her new singles, “Goldstar,” and “Nothing I Can’t Undo,” but also announced her upcoming album, also titled Nothing I Can’t Undo, which is due out July 17th. |
Regarding her single “Goldstar,” Bickett states, “[It’s] a letter to myself, or more accurately, my inner child. I’ve struggled with perfectionism and self-criticism my whole life, and I find that it helps to think about myself as the little girl who just loved to sing and tell stories. I would never be mean to that little girl, so why am I mean to myself?” |
The track feels whimsical and honest, exploring introspective soul-based themes. “Goldstar” aims to help listeners reconnect with themselves, especially if perhaps they feel they’ve gone astray. The lyric video shows nostalgic and tender-hearted home videos of her as a child, adding to the sweetness of the song. |
Moving along to the title track of the new album, “Nothing I Can’t Undo,” it seems to lean towards the art of living life open-endedly. |
Bickett notes that she often runs from security and attachment, but craves it at the same time. Her intimate lyrics let listeners in on the stories that describe her habits. “I don’t want forever, just someone to talk to / Nothing I can’t undo / Nothing I can’t undo,” she sings in earnest. |
Bickett’s 2023 EP, grown up and lonely, demonstrates her knack for writing honest and unfiltered songs. She kicked off 2024 with her single, “I Like Mondays,” which resonated with fans when she quickly wrote and posted the song on the 1st of January (a Monday). Her EP, This Isn’t Me Missing You, came in the fall of 2024, and she spent time on the road supporting artists like Charlotte Lawrence, Ron Pope, and Blü Eyes. |
Born in Indiana and now living in Nashville, Tennessee, Bickett has garnered a reputation as a very introspective and gentle vocalist. She offers a lot of presence to be discovered in her musical works, and has a natural feel for songwriting. She is currently on tour with Devin Kennedy, then will be embarking on a headlining tour in support of her upcoming album this fall. |
