SCALER by Harry Steel | Words: Brad Sked
May is a month of multi-venue madness with Are You Listening?, The Great Escape, Focus Wales and Dot 2 Dot being just a handful of the festivals taking place across the country. Not to be left out, Southampton's Wanderlust Festival has announced their return, with the third edition taking place across the last May bank holiday weekend – 23rd and 24th May – across The 1865, The Joiners and Heartbreakers.
Along with news of their dates for 2026, Wanderlust Festival have also announced the first wave of their next edition. Leading the line-up, the maniacal Squid art-rock freakout looks set to headline the Saturday evening. Also joining are industrial electro-techno noise fiends SCALER, grunge-tinged post-punks Blood Wizard, heady fuzz toasters The Family Battenberg, the psychedelic-garage-rock rollercoaster of Wax Head, wondrous ethereal Brighton shoegazers goodbye, Southampton's own cosmonauts Dead Rabbits and many more.
With previous outings from Wanderlust featuring the likes of English Teacher, Personal Trainer, Shame and Man/Woman/ Chainsaw, and an already mega 2026, the Hampshire festival is fastly becoming an essential 'not to be missed event' in the new music calendar.
First wave announcement: Annie-Dog, Balancing Act, Benchy and the Gazers, Blood Wizard, casual smart, Cloth, Daphney, Dead Rabbits, Formal Sppeedwear, French Toast, Fuzz Lightyear, Girl Scout, Goodbye, Gumdrop, Humour, Lemonsuckr, Lynnie Snow, Ry-Guy, Scaler, Slag, Squid, Sugar Bang, The Family Battenberg, The Stanford Family Band, Trout, Wax Head, World News
