Boasting an all-star roster of artist-teachers from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Switzerland, and the USA, Christie has been invited to this bi-annual festival every year since 2013. Joined by pianist Lillian Buss Pearson, Dr. Beard performed a solo recital program of music devoted to past and present victims of war around the world including works by Wissam Boustany, Thomas DeHartman, Ilse Weber, Dick Kattenburg, and Katatsagu Muramatsu. Dr. Beard also taught 2 flute/piccolo masterclasses for students at the festival. The day after the festival's conclusion, Christie was invited to perform her anti-war program alongside the festival's founder, Gabriel Goñi, for a private house concert - the audience for which included festival artists, sponsors of the flute festival, as well as the guest of honor, Costa Rica's current Palestinian Ambassador.
