Sŵn Festival returns to Cardiff this October, taking place from the 16th to 18th. It is one of our favourite city festivals in the UK, set across a great collection of intimate venues that are easily walkable and embedded in the heart of Cardiff city centre. The festival has been gradually growing since 2007, this year marking second edition to stretch over three days of music. With a focus firmly fixed on new music, Sŵn consistently brings together some of our favourite exciting new artists, this year featuring highlights such as Getdown Services, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Moonchild Sanelly, The Orchestra (For Now) and DEADLETTER.
Mykki Blanco by Cecilia Chiaramonte
Internationally renowned "queer rap" innovator Mykki Blanco is another key name on this first lineup drop, as is Jessica Winter, a consistent highlight of the festival circuit who is at last releasing her debut album this July. We will also be hoping to catch some recent breakout acts like the Mên An Tol, Clara Mann, Rabbitfoot (a highlight from our Great Escape stage!), country rockers Brown Horse and recent Speedy Wunderground collaborators Morn. Then casual smart will also be an essential watch on home soil as the Cardiff band return to the festival.
This is only the first lineup drop from the Sŵn and it is already giving us plenty of reason to return to this busily growing gem of a city festival. As we near October, tickets and latest info can be found here: https://swnfest.seetickets.com/search/all
