You know you're doing something right if Macy Gray takes you under her wing.
Rising pop artist Terra Renae caught the "I Try" singer's ear in 2022, to which she helped guide and produce Renae's debut album, All I Have. Most recently, she has returned with her shimmering new single, "Manifest It," which acts as the lead single off of her upcoming album.
The track, which blends bright production with her commanding vocals, is both a personal declaration and a universal call to trust—even when the way forward isn't always clear. At its core, "Manifest It" is about self-belief and resilience—two things Renae knows plenty about.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Renae didn't pursue music off the bat. After losing her father at a young age, she was raised by her mother, spending much of her childhood singing in church choirs and performing in school plays. She eventually carved out a modeling career, and paired it with a doctoral degree. In the stillness and uncertainty of the pandemic, Renae rekindled her love of making music.
What began as home recordings alongside her now-husband and producer Praveen V. Arla slowly reignited her voice, and the rest is history.
"Manifest It" was produced by Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, OneRepublic), Epic Mazur (Crazy Town), and Arla, and boasts co-writing credits from pop powerhouse Lauren Christy (Avril Lavigne, Bebe Rexha, Dua Lipa) and artist Sam Short. "This song is a reminder that with unwavering self-belief, you can create your own path and manifest your dreams," Renae states. In "Manifest It," Renae shows that sometimes the right time to chase a dream is exactly when it feels like the door has closed.
Renae will be joining Gray on her 25th Anniversary European Tour, performing in 15 cities across the continent from May 20th to June 8th, with stops in Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, Prague, and Warsaw.
