The fan-favourite festival returns to the Brecon Beacons with further highlights including Gwenno, English Teacher, Fat Dog and MJ Lenderman.

Green Man is ever a favourite of ours on the summer festival schedule. With a location second to none among the Brecon Beacons, in the shadow of Sugar Loaf Mountain, it catches Wales at the height of summer with an all-ages crowd that is among the friendliest to be found. Then, of course, there is the music, and in that respect Green Man has become a benchmark for festival season. This year, running from 14th to 17th of August, it is clear from the initial bumper lineup announcement that there will be no shortage of brilliant artists to keep us busy from Thursday to Sunday.

Of the headliners, Underworld lead the line, promising to light up the Saturday night. The festival are quick to point out that their set will also form something of a Welsh homecoming, given the band formed in Cardiff in 1987. Wet Leg are a much newer name, and following the massive years either side of the release of their debut album, we are keen to hear any new material that could be dropped in among the hits that so rapidly made their name. Completing the headline list, Kneecap build on an incredible and long-deserved couple of years of buzz, while New York art rockers TV on the Radio close out the festival with their Sunday night slot.

This year's lineup is defined as much by the tier just below headline, however. Indie rock four-piece Wunderhorse appear off the back of releasing their massive debut album 'Midas', Fat Dog bring their vaunted live show back to Green Man after debuting in 2023, CMAT will provide a euphoric prelude to Underworld's set, while Perfume Genius promises to be a cathartic live experience. Yard Act, Greentea Peng, Los Campesinos!, MJ Lenderman, John Grant, Panda Bear, Gwenno, Richard Dawson and Warmduscher suggest the eclectic mix of highlights across the weekend, joined further by Mercury-winners English Teacher and the quietly awe-inspiring caroline. With already too many highlights to mention, this will be an edition of Green Man that will keep us on our toes from start to finish.
