The ASTA National Conference is the premier string and orchestra conference in the US attracting over 3,000 teachers, musicians, and collegiate students each year. Dr. Brooks will not only share research on mental health issues among student and professional musicians, but also introduce and demonstrate creative support approaches derived from evidence-based mental health interventions made accessible to music teachers and conductors. He serves on the UNO Medical Humanities faculty and is also courtesy faculty in the UNMC College of Medicine. Outside of his work, Dr. Brooks is completing the requirements for a masters degree and licensure in clinical mental health counseling.
