Few Americana artists seem to work harder than Jason Isbell.
Isbell has hit the ground running with his first single of 2025, offering sincere and moving lyrics with "Bury Me." The stripped down acoustic number captures the story of the all too familiar feelings of being human and making mistakes, but continuing to pursue growth. Often staying humble with his storytelling as he's been known to do, his words are easily relatable to his listeners.
"Bury Me" is the lead single off Isbell's upcoming solo acoustic album, Foxes in the Snow, which will be released on March 7, 2025. It was recorded in New York City at Electric Lady Studios in October 2024, and recorded mainly on the same all-mahogany 1940 Martin acoustic guitar.
Foxes in the Snow will be Isbell's latest release since the award-winning record Weathervanes dropped with his band The 400 Unit in 2023. Ten years prior, he broke out with his acclaimed album, Southeastern, which featured fan favorites in "Cover Me Up" and "Traveling Alone" among others.
Isbell has taken home six GRAMMY awards, and is noted as the first artist to win Best Americana Album three times. With his well-established music career, he's also added acting to his resume, as he can be seen in Martin Scorsese's Killers Of The Flower Moon, and will be seen next in the upcoming RZA movie One Spoon Of Chocolate.
Along with the upcoming album release, Isbell also announced an entirely solo U.S. tour: An Intimate Evening With Jason Isbell. He's currently performing in Germany.
With magnetic melodies and his signature soothing vocals, Foxes in the Snow offers some of the most intimate work Isbell has done. Through his poetic imagery, listeners will find themselves immersed in the story, as he creates vivid pictures and scenes like a movie reel.
