Dropping in time for Valentine's Day last week, Frank Lloyd Wleft was joined by Nina Winder-Lind of The New Eves for his latest single, 'How Did I Let Myself Fall So In Love With You?'. Having ventured on a coast-to-coast trip across the US in 2022, the London-based Wleft's passion for American music and culture grew to be more than just a brief fixation. Paired in a musical context with his British poetic wit, it produces here a delightful and downright country number.

'How Did I Let Myself Fall So In Love With You?' is a no-nonsense, boot-scootin' submergence into American country music. Call and response melodies between Wleft and Winder-Lind gently bob down the line, floating on jangly guitars and sprawling fiddle. The pair manage to capture an unfeigned cheeriness within the nature of 'How Did I Let Myself Fall So In Love With You?', though the characters brought into being are not entirely convincingly care-free – "I watch you drink my Irish whiskey / and wish you cared enough to kiss me" is one such trade-off.

Following on from Wleft's debut EP, 'Raised On Red Milk' and last year's single, 'The Actual Kids In America' the Wlet continues to unfurl his keen ability to produce captivating art. Normally found performing with his live band, or 'Orchestra', Wleft himself is capable of encapsulating different personalities on the stage, blending together poetic elements with his eclectic musical tastes.
