Michael and Tanya Trotter first hit the spotlight with their 2017 debut album, Down to the River, and have been off and running since. And on January 10th, 2024, they delivered their latest single, "Save Me," from what will be their forthcoming and fifth album, Plus One.
The heartfelt ballad embraces the togetherness that has made the duo successful, blending classic soul and commercial country.
Following 2023's GRAMMY-nominated Lover's Game, The War And Treaty's new album is the result of the husband-and-wife duo's immersion in Nashville. Plus One features collaborations with heavy hitting country and roots artists like Miranda Lambert ("Love Like Whiskey") and Billy Strings ("Call You By Your Name"), as the couple have embraced Music City while maintaining their own distinct voices.
"We're in the culture of Nashville, and writing with these writers who help create the soundtrack to the culture of Nashville was a dream come true to us," Michael Trotter told Rolling Stone. "But we also realized that we had a lot to say, and we had a lot to say that only we could say."
Plus One hits digital shelves February 14th via Mercury Nashville, and the duo kick off their spring tour on March 26th in Minneapolis.
