Since the beginning of the year I've been working on Y Mabinogi - The Fourth Branch again and have realised I may have been a little optimistic about a Spring release... I was torn between wanting to set myself a deadline, and also wanting to get everything right. Well, after getting back to writing the album getting it right has won over the deadline. It might be a late Spring release, or a Summer release, maybe later. The truth is it will be ready when it's finished and can join the other three Branches to complete the Journey that started in 2017.
These stories are hundreds of years old, and you might well know them already, but if you don't, and you don't want to read any spoilers, stop reading now.
In this tale Pryderi dies. He has been the narrator since the opening lines of the First Branch and the moment of his death, well, I want to treat it with the sensitivity and honour it deserves - with a song. The thing is, as many of you will know, I've only recently lost my Mum, and writing this song about losing such an important person and being with them at the moment of death, is pushing some of my buttons, to say the least. It's a challenge, but also a very cathartic song to write. It's just taking some time, and I could see my progress shifting, and that deadline moving away. Hence this update.
Next week I'm also going to be re-recording the spoken word story, having re-written some areas of it before the new year.
