Sandro Bandini is pure, wild energy on stage. He has been described as "the bastard son of Tom Waits and Cab Calloway" by The Troubadour, London.

His major influences are diverse- Van Morrison, Dr. John, Tom Waits and The Clash, which have led him to fuse jazz, blues, rock and gypsy into a dynamic live show. This, combined with his enigmatic and theatrical stage performances, has led Bandini to become one of the most relevant and exciting emerging artists today.

Hailing from Italy, Sandro Bandini's musical influences originally came from his creative musical family. His grandmother, a former cabaret artist, taught him to create a stage persona and win the crowd's attention. His father introduced him to blues and jazz music, and his uncle (Singer-songwriter for Chantango) introduced him to the art of songwriting.

After some adventures in the Italian Punk Rock scene and a degree in Theatre Performance in Milan, Bandini moved to London and began playing extensively at high-profile music venues such as the 100 Club, the Green Note, and the Half Moon, where he received critical and popular acclaim. His performances have been described more as a theatre show than a simple gig.

More Details

In 2019, Bandini released his debut album "Barflies", produced by Camelle Hinds (Style Council, Paul Weller), and toured Europe with his eight-piece band. In February 2020, Bandini and his band were a special guest at Twist and Shout, an immersive touring show with an audience of 2000 people that took place in Milan, Amsterdam, and Paris.

Sandro Bandini is now working with Spiritual Records on 3 new releases. The first single will be out in May 2020; Bandini will also be headlining the Spiritual Records festival with a full band show at the 100 Club in Fitzrovia on the 13th of April 2020.

You can find Bandini playing in London solo at the piano or with his jazz trio almost every week, surely you won't miss him if you'll show up at Spiritual Bar in Camden.

Testimonials

Bandini is pure, wild energy on stage. He has been described as "the bastard son of Tom Waits and Cab Calloway" by The Troubadour, London.

To say the evening was colourful would be an understatement. It was a delightful spectrum of music, humour, funk, soul and love. And you leave only wanting more.

Catalina Blackman

Camden Fringe Festival

Bandini is the best in the business. When he's on the line up you know you are going to be in for one hell of an evening!

Phoebe Stringer

One Night Records

A great show, entertaining and full of energy, Bandini charms the audience by telling stories and creating a beautiful athmosphere, thanks also to the support of his band, young talented artists who give everything on stage. The gig is a success, people are happy and are grateful to have spent a nice evening with excellent music and entertainment. Bandini and his band other than being great musicians, they're as well good people, they live music first of all as a passion and on and off stage are professionals who know how to behave.

Massimo Ricciardo

Nidaba Theatre, Milan

Bandini played a wonderful set in our Amsterdam (underground kinda) place. It was real great: great quality and timeless atmosphere! It's not nostalgic music but also not 'modern'. These songs will stand for a long, long time to come! The songs, band and singer(s) grab you and bring you in another world almost.   You're welcome back anytime (but I got a feeling next time Amsterdam will be in Paradiso for instance).
