Having launched their debut EP 'Head Leaking' in January, 2024 has been a big year for Terra Twin. While they continue to sell out bigger and bigger shows in their native London, word is spreading across the UK, with the band taking naturally to their first festival slots with their mosh-friendly brand of indie cut with Americana.
Tell us about your 2024 in brief.
2024 has been a wild experience for us. We released our first EP 'Head Leaking' at the beginning of the year, we played our London show at The Lower Third with a papier-mâché disco-ball-head dangling from the ceiling and we got signed to our wonderful label Dance To The Radio. We also got to play our music in lots of new cities across the UK, work with lots of new people and overall just pumped for 2025.
Your Album of the Year and why.
'Grinning William' by Blood Wizard. I've always loved Blood Wizard but this record just blew me away. The lyrics are both honest and whimsical and I think that makes the record such a colourful journey to go on. We have also ended up working with Theo Verney on our next EP!
Your Song of the Year why.
'Antarctica' by Divorce. I think there is something deeply nostalgic about this song. It breaks my heart but also puts it back together.
Favourite live show you've seen 2024 and why?
Idles at Alexandra Palace. I lost my mind at this show. They connected on such a deep level with the audience and gave everyone the RELEASE they needed after the year we all had. I was beating my chest and singing my heart out. Long live Idles.
What was your highlight of the year? (something you have done)
I think as a band we've always wanted to bundle into the back of a van, drive from town to town and play our music. We got to do that this year and it was a really great experience for us. I think we grew closer as a band as well.
Favourite thing someone's said about your music?
"Your voice is like that of a young Julian Casablancas". I will take it...
…and the strangest thing someone's said about your music?
"Hey, is this where the barn dance is?"
What you're looking forward to in 2025…
We are looking forward to sharing lots more music with you. We are looking forward to playing more shows, more cities, more music!w
