The USA Lithuania Young Lions Jazz Orchestra, a unique collaboration between students from Šiaulių Sauliaus Sondeckio menų gimnazija in Lithuania and the UNO-sponsored Metropolitan Area Youth Jazz Orchestra (MAYJO) from Omaha, Nebraska, has just concluded a highly successful European tour. Over the span of ten days, the ensemble showcased their talents with five captivating performances across three countries: Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The tour, which was deeply rooted in the sister city relationship between Šiauliai and Omaha, featured standout performances at prestigious jazz festivals in Saulkrasti, Tauragė and Chodiez, including a celebrated gala at the Saule Theater in Šiauliai.

The Saule Theater event, attended by numerous dignitaries and jazz enthusiasts, highlighted the group's extraordinary musical synergy and cross-cultural exchange. The young musicians, drawn from top high school talent in both Omaha and Šiauliai, received enthusiastic applause and praise for their vibrant and innovative jazz arrangements. Joining the Young Lions were members of the renowned Romuva Youth Jazz Orchestra from Šiauliai. This tour not only strengthened cultural ties between the cities but also underscored the powerful impact of international collaboration in the arts, leaving a lasting impression on audiences across Europe.
