Oxford's dream phone are back! The DIY punk hyperpop duo made a sparkling impression with their irreverent and brilliant self-titled party EP last year and we've been desperate for more since.

'fogo' celebrates being the boring one, rejecting the night out in favour of staying in. As the band put it: "What can we say? We're older and a pandemic changes you." The song comes out of the clash between looking after yourself and wanting to go out and see your friends.

It's not a conventional subject for a pumping pop song, though this certainly is a more reflective cut than anything off the hyperactive 'dream phone' EP. The glitched out distorted auto-tune saturated vocals are back, but are given a more earnest platform, at points arranged into wonderful pitch-shifted harmony. The elementally charming synth lines anchor the lyrical longing for the simpler pleasures and this is underscored by the video, in which the band drink water and dance around in the garden wearing dressing gowns.

As ever, dream phone capture the joy of setting your own rules, with idiosyncratic, immediate and fun music, tied here to a song about the similar importance of establishing social boundaries.
