North London quartet Lost Lyra release debut track, 'Pastel Colours,' via Big Richard Records. Having played music together in their hometown of Oxford before moving to London, founding members Amelie Prior (Guitar/Vocals) and Frances Steel (Drums/Vocals) joined forces with Anzhela Sladkarova (Guitar) and Luke Osborne (Bass) in order to bring their tender sound to fruition.
Initially serene, the track constantly possesses a latent foreboding shadow. Spoken word verses float effortlessly upon a reposeful bed of velvet-smooth guitar and soothingly steady rhythm section. The delicate quality of the track is deeply rooted in this cohesive groove between drums and bass as melodies drift dreamily above state.
Composed during lockdown, ruminative feelings of dissociation are explored in the lyrics whilst equally reflected through the feel of the surrounding music. Expressive and intimate, 'Pastel Colours' represents an exciting first glimpse of an enthralling newly discovered group.
