Songwriter and producer Betsy Lucas has released her latest official LP of Alternative Pop music, "Mid Tempo Crisis. It contains twelve new original Betsy Lucas tracks for approximately an hour of listening time. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry on the LuCasa Farms record label. Betsy Lucas is a Michigan based songwriter and singer who has a history as deep and rich as the songs this album presents. She comes from a musical family, in this case one in which both parents were Barbershop Quartet Champions. Inspired early on by songwriting greats like the Beatles, Laura Nyro, XTC, Prefab Sprout, among many others, Betsy honed her songwriting chops and forged her own style. Betsy soon set off on her own path playing solo and gigging with bands and was a featured artist on local Upper Michigan radio as early as the age of fifteen. This led to a stint in Nashville being produced by legendary session man Fred Carter, Jr. After relocating with her band "Lucas'' to the San Francisco Bay Area, she played extensively in acoustic & rock clubs with many other notable musicians. She has spent the last few years recording and now emerges from the studio with this strong independent release.
Betsy's enchanting smoky alto vocals delivered with contemplative lyrics and a backdrop of masterful production is demonstrated throughout the album. Notably this can be heard on songs like "No History" where the listener gets taken on an aural adventure that certainly feels as though you have a history with Betsy Lucas after experiencing it.
