'Circling the Drain' is a celebration of acceptance, defined by '90s touchstones and collaboration with Dan Carey.

The product of Tummyache and Dan Carey teaming up for a Speedy single was always going to be exciting. 'Circling the Drain' is a cunning follow-up to the grunge balladry displayed on 'SOAK', the first album producer/singer-songwriter Soren Bryce released since moving to Blighty.

The 90s-style intricate indie rock sound, complete with Bryce's compressed, hissing vocal delivery is there in spades and splendour. The crux of this track's appeal, however, is a thin, almost-steely guitar that scythes through the anthemic, brassy backdrop. It channels Radiohead at their anti-Britpop, introspective best around when 'The Bends' dropped; in turn signalling a mouthwatering road ahead for Tummyache's music.

Bryce explains the song's inception coming from a dislike of "male music critics' reviews of my album and shows" but remarks the end is more of an "inward reflection on how to accept critique and fight negativity with acceptance and love, and more self-assuredness".

Readers and listeners need no assurance that this is a crisp, expansive indie rock bloomer that will age well as Tummyache cements her place in the UK's alternative scene.
