Goodie!

It's been over a week since I've spun last but, hey, I don't do polar vortexes. What can I say?
So I'm at it bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning along with this self-titled album by Max Q.

Who's Max Q you ask?
Max Q is the first and only studio album by Michael Hutchence of INXS and Ollie Olsen of Whirlywirld and the Dogs in Space soundtrack, released in September of 1989, accompanied by key members of the post-punk scene in Melbourne, Australia. It ended with minor hits with the songs Way of the World and Sometimes and was certified gold in Australia.
The band was actually named for Ollie's dog ... so that's cute too, I guess.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album again as its easily been since high school that I've listened to it (also an indication how long this cassette has been forgotten about and in storage) and, honestly, I'm surprised how much of it I actually remember and can sing along with.
Also, who knew that in 24 years that these songs would end up being so akin to the difficult and trying times we live in now, especially the post-apocalyptic Ot-Ven-Rot which could have been our universal anthem as of late.
Who knew Michael Hutchence would turn out to so prophetic?
