I'm back at The gym this morning for another 45 minutes on the treadmill as well as whatever else I can squeeze in afterwards. However, my calves didn't seem to like that plan so I opted for 30 minutes walking instead followed by a 15 minute functional strength set to try and breathe some life into my poor atrophied leg muscles.
What didn't change this morning is what I had intended on listening to, this New Earth Mud album by Chris Robinson.

Here's a summary of this album in a nutshell: Cool rock star marries hot young starlet. Cool rock star takes hot young wife on the road with rockin' band. Soon, cool rock star no longer feels the same about band. Doubtlessly encouraged by hot young wife, cool rock star decides to quit band and go solo. Cool rock star cuts hair, grows ugly Tom Green-style goatee and starts writing introspective romantic ballads about how much he loves hot young wife. Cool rock star moves to Paris to record rootsy, soulful album short on rockers and long on syrupy glop like Safe In The Arms Of Love, Could You Really Love Me?, Untangle My Mind and Katie Dear. Rock star eventually breaks up with hot young wife, reunites with old band and makes the kickass album he's been suppressing all these years. Suddenly, rock star is cool again.
It's a tale as old as time and this is that resulting record originally released back in 2002.
All in all, this early pre-Brotherhood album was a pretty mellow listen this morning for what turned out to be a pretty mellow workout.
