I took yesterday off to take care of, well ... let's just say that there was cat pee involved.

Anyway, since I have the day off work today and don't have much else to do, I'm making up for that missing workout opportunity today on the treadmill and later with the heavy irons. And it all goes down this morning with this Morning Dove White album by One Dove.

This is another throw back to my university days at the University of Waterloo, dredged up from the "Big Box of Cassettes" that Kelly exiled from the downstairs closet a few weekends ago. This was the only studio album released by the Scottish electronic music group.
Believe it or not, Morning Dove White peaked at #30 on the UK Albums Chart. and spawned three singles which appeared on the UK Singles Chart: White Love (#43), Breakdown (#24), and Why Don't You Take Me (#30) ... and I remember them all.

Today I still have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I really enjoy the Saint Etienne doing Screamadelica vibe about it, but on the other hand I feel that the Andy Weatherall production is a bit heavy handed in places, even more so now that 20 years has past.
Wait ... TWENTY YEARS?!!

Yeah.
It's been that long.
Anyway, while I'm no longer into sparkly body glitter and sucking on adult-sized binkies, this album actually turned out to be somewhat of a surprise hit while getting mindlessly lost in the sweat, grinding out (slow mind) the steady kilometres on the treadmill. However, at the 36 minute mark, my left calf decided to tighten up as opposed to my right as it happened this past Tuesday. It would seem then that my body is still working out the kinks.
So while I suffer through the various initial owies and ouchies and whatnot, this album was actually a delight to listen to.
Who woulda thunk it?
