Belinda Carlisle – Summer Nights at the Bandstand, Kelvingrove Park Glasgow 29th July 2022
A stunning setting at the bandstand and amphitheatre within Kelvingrove Park on the west side of Glasgow. As the sun was starting to go down it highlighted beautiful colours on the trees. The scene was set for Belinda Carlisle and support band the Eves to light up the stage.
The PA music became more distant, it was time to welcome the support band for tonight, three piece from Edinburgh The Eves. Caroline Gilmour and Marissa Keltie are the duo fronting The Eves creating beautiful harmonies sitting perfectly on top of the pop infused music. They had the Glasgow crowd hooked after the first song, before playing their song that is representing Scottish Women's Football for this season in Big Love. The band played a short set, that had plenty of powerful songs back by the glorious harmonies from the pair.
The playing their latest single Brand-New Day, that had captured the Glasgow audience. Song after song were performed with really passion and powerful lyrics, this included Love Will Find You and the excellent Bronski Beat cover of Small-Town boy that gave the song a new release of life, had the crowd singing along before closing their short set with Legal High and the wonderful City of Stars. Tonight, The Eves were amongst the stars, the Band are playing at Glasgow Room 2 of the 6th of August 2022, this is a band that's not to be missed.

The time had come for Belinda Carlisle to take the stage, as her band took up their positions the pa music slowly lowered the band started up as Belinda enters the stage slipping of her shoes as she performs bare footed, she delights the Glasgow fans the excellent Runaway Horses. Her voice sounded remarkable as she takes in the venue from her focal point on the stage. The audience off their seats and on their feet singing along, making their way to the front barrier to get up and personal with Belinda as she belts out hit after hit. The age group in the arena was mixed with fans that have followed Belinda's career over the decades. Smiling into the crowd before performing the excellent (We Want) The Same Thing and Nobody Owns Me, Belinda seems to be floating around the stage enjoying every moment. The moment she set foot on the stage both became one, it was a magnetic reaction, but the transformation as she owns it in her own right.

Glasgow was in her hands tonight, the crowd sounding great in full voice to every song, as she performed, I Get Weak and the excellent Circle in the Sand. The Glasgow weather was working in sync with the setlist as just before performing Summer Rain, the rain made an appearance over the bandstand. As the set came to a close, she finished off with the excellent Valentine and Leave a Light On before the volume from the crowd was raised with the excellent Heaven is a Place On Earth that had the trees shaking with the noise level within the Amphitheatre. The light rain could not spoil the set for the fans or Belinda as she left the stage. The Glasgow audience were on cloud nine hoping she would return to perform more of her back catalogue.
The band came back on, the waiting crowd were in for a treat with the opening encores with the excellent Go Go's song Our Lips Are Sealed that was a real crowd pleaser. Tonight, was a night for memories to be made in a perfect location with Belinda Carlisle on top form, she closed the set with Big Scary Animal and the excellent Live Your Life Be Free before waving goodbye to the Glasgow audience soaking up all the applause as she leaves the stage waving.
Tonight, we found heaven was a place in Kelvingrove Bandstand, and as the Glasgow audience got weak in the presence of the amazing Belinda Carlisle. Catch Belinda at a venue close to you as you will not be disappointed.
