Nottingham's Malvis Key arrives today with a new single entitled 'Primitive', a buoyant and introspective dance track that closes the gap between the intimacy of headphones listening and being in the thick of it at a club. Written and produced within the fruitful confines of his East Midlands home studio, 'Primitive' acts as a transportive electronic cut connecting raw human emotion and a dancefloor exorcism, delivered as always with a wry smile.
The track reflects on a coming of age feeling of emotion, a clarity of gut-feel reaction and the process of understanding that underpins it. You may recognise the lyrical flair of Malvis Key from his days as singer of the now sadly defunct dance-rock outfit Milk Disco, who made their mark on London stages a couple of years back. On what is now his third single release under the guise of Malvis Key, 'Primitive' brings a nighttime-pop experience, swimming with subtle hooks and detailed electronic production, the track embodies escapist pop at its finest.
