A Tarantino-inspired video for Salt Ashes' new song "Body Says" has been unveiled. 'Killing My Mind, the artist's second album was released in November and includes this track.

With her first complete self-titled debut album, Salt Ashes (aka Veiga Sanchez), exploded onto the dance music industry in 2016, which swiftly acquired fame among music lovers worldwide.

Inspired by Tarantino's tough female characters from 'Kill Bill' and 'Death Proof,' the video is a choreographed performance piece. An intense push-pull relationship between male and female characters is shown in Salt Ashes.

With this album and its associated visuals, Salt Ashes has been exploring the idea of female empowerment. Directed by Kassandra Powell, the video features choreography by Joshua Base Pilmore, a well-known name in the industry (famous for his work with artists such as Rina Sawayama).

Working with Kassandra Powell on this video was such a ride. We have a shared love for all things Tarantino, David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick and I've been a big fan her work for a while now so I thought we'd create something great together.

Salt Ashes' 'Killing My Mind' album delves deep into her own connection with the patriarchy while also delivering a hard-hitting message that is both challenging and empowering at the same time.

Since then, she's recorded a slew of hit songs, earning praise from publications including The Guardian, Billboard, MTV, Attitude Magazine, NOISEY, Popjustice, Wonderland, and CLASH, as well as BBC Radio (Introducing, Radio 1 & 1Xtra), Spotify (NMF UK & The Pop List), and others.

it's a journey through the last couple of years so it feels very personal and cathartic, I have to stop myself from crying occasionally as some of the subjects are still very raw. But I love that. It makes me know that I really wrote from the heart on this album.

Say Lou Lou, Nimmo, and Bright Light Bright Light are just a few of the acts she has toured with. In light of the publication of her second album, Salt Ashes can clearly be seen as a rising star in the music industry.
