In addition to Adam Lazio and Frances Lawson, Smoky Mountains is a married duo who mix old outlaw country and Americana to create their own distinct sound.

They first met in Los Angeles in 2019 after travelling from various areas of the continent, and they immediately started playing music together.

"The Baptism," the band's debut song, tells the storey of a woman's desire for atonement via the use of a swampy rhythm and Frances' lead vocals, among other elements.

At the beginning of the Baptism, an acoustic guitar intro is heard, which is shortly followed by a Hammond-style organ. As the song progresses, it climbs to a beautiful crescendo, with the melodic force of great guitars, well-timed percussion, and an explosive bassline marking the beginning of the song's progression.

Baptism leaves a lasting impact on music listeners who value authentic and passionate music and are drawn to it.
