"Crushed Velvet" Iris Gold's new single from Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart and rising star and Bay Street Records recording artist, welcomes you back to her "hippie hop" universe. This is the fourth single from Iris Gold.

As a young singer from the United Kingdom, Iris Gold immediately gained the attention of big-name musicians such as Miguel, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, and even Robbie Williams.

Stewart co-wrote and produced the Prince-inspired song, which was recorded in the Caribbean at Bay Street Studios. Girl Pick Up Your Drum, her forthcoming album, has the fourth song, "Crushed Velvet." A Sportmaster commercial in Denmark will include the music.

While on tour in September and October 2021, she sold out the "Black Voices" tour, and she received sync placement for a Vodafone ad campaign. Another gain for Stewart, whose innovative approach to genre-blending has captivated the music business for years, is Gold's continued association with her.

Stewart commented about working with Iris on this new track,

Iris and I are both massive Prince Fans and when she told me about the first Prince concert she attended, I asked her everything about that experience. Then we put it into a song split into two sections: the A section like a rush of adrenaline and the B section a cool Prince groove.

Stewart is one of the most renowned musical pioneers of all time, and Gold leapt at the chance to collaborate with him. "hippie hop" vibe will be included in Gold's unique sound as they continue to create her own style together.

Iris Gold is ready to build a name for herself as an entertainer with a wide range of talents. William Morris Endeavor hired Gold for international representation as a result of the hype around the rising star.

Describing the single, Gold says,

The first time I saw Prince in concert he blew my mind, his husky low voice, his falsetto, his dance moves, his band and the way he made me feel… like he was talking directly to me in between songs… was out of this world. I was telling Dave about it and he said 'let's write a song about that experience and the way it made me feel', I had a huge crush on Prince "crushed like velvet.
