25 years ago, Freddye Stover, better known as Miss Freddye, had her theatrical debut in and around her birthplace of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
"Lady of the Blues" has watched her fame increase steadily since then. Numerous award nominations and accolades in her hometown have made her a household name in the music business. The frontwoman of two bands: Miss Freddye's Blues Band and Miss Freddye's Homecookin Band, Freddye Stover is a multi-award-winning blues singer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, set to release her first gospel song in 2020, "Wade in the Water."
Miss Freddye went back to her origins and sang in the church choir. As a result, her rendition of the century-old song climbed to number two on the worldwide iTunes Gospel sales rankings. Freddye's next gospel album will have a second track, which she will release soon.
She has previously won blues contests, including the Best Blues Act award in 2008 from the West Virginia Blues Society and the Best Duo/Solo Act award in 2012 from the Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania.
