Producer, bassist, engineer, composer, and lousy vocalist residing in Los Angeles. Just Super is the mastermind of "emo jazz," a fusion of indie, progressive R&B, pop, jazz, and emo that he refers to as "emo jazz" (also obviously).
When Geo Botelho isn't working as a truck driver or a preschool teacher, his alter ego is Just Super. When he was in high school, Just Super played bass in punk bands for years before deciding to quit the family excavating company and attend Berklee College of Music to pursue a career in music.
While studying music production and engineering in Boston, he developed an insatiable passion for jazz, as well as an insatiable debt. For the first time since graduating from college, he started releasing music as GEO, a primarily instrumental-based project that allowed him to explore his creative potential as a producer and composer. It wasn't long before Just Super had released 10 songs under the GEO pseudonym, getting millions of views and some attention in the process.
He's not only worked with artists like Phoebe Bridgers and MUNA, but also AlunaGeorge (kinda), Eric Nam, Zoe Wees, and Katie Gavin as an engineer. Aside from being on tour with MUNA, you can find him reading Vonnegut or daydreaming about his time meeting The Rock.
Just Super is eager for you to get to know him and enter his frenzied brain via his first album and to play loud in your favourite songs at the start of this new week.
My Name is an infeasible conversation between me and a long lost friend. Before you start to feel bad for me, let me clear up that this pal of mine is not dead. As a result of a failed romantic relationship, I lost this…being, so to speak. This fictitious interaction asks a myriad of questions but in essence, it asks if I made the meaningful impact on him that he made on me. God, I miss that little dude. Anyway, My Name is a way for me to desperately connect with someone who may not even know my damn name. I mean, I bought one of those ball-thrower things for the park, I saved his life when he ate too much chocolate, I even cleaned up after him when he soiled himself in front of a Hudson News in LAX, how could he not remember me?
