In 2020, Ally Palmer began working with extra musicians in order to give depth and extension to her compositions and generate a groove-based sound that is best suited to a live situation.

Taking a new path has given the music a more personal touch. Ally's music will have you embracing the Byron Bay philosophy of 'Cheers Up, Slow Down, Chill Out,' which combines old school soul with smooth and upbeat lyrics.

Ally Palmer may be spotted playing and singing her delicate and passionate indie-folk throughout the Byron Bay shoreline. Aside from driving about in her aqua-blue Kombi van and evoking a classic 1960s surf pop mood, she writes poignant songs that showcase her captivating combination of vulnerability and power. Summer days spent lounging on the beach are made even better by her soothing vocals and easygoing demeanour.

It's no secret that Ally is an accomplished musician who also happens to be a passionate surfer and environmentalist. What you hear in Ally's music is an amalgam of the genres and artists she's been exposed to throughout the course of her musical career. When she was a child, she listened to vinyl albums of Bruce Springsteen, Paul Kelly, Neil Young, and Van Morrison, and sang along with her family around a campfire.

In 2016, after touring Australia with a variety of bands and musicians, Ally chose to pursue her own music full-time. As a result, she was invited to perform at the 2017 Byron Bay Bluesfest and has since produced two EPs that have received widespread radio play in Australia. Over 100,000 people saw the video for her latest single, "Takin' It Easy," on Facebook.
