Valentina Iaconis, alias Anita Cane Violins, was born in 1994 in Como, Italy. She begins her musical path only after her 20s, combining her inclination for music and singing with that for writing.
Her passion and feeling of closeness to hip hop, jazz, soul and black culture makes her want to create something different from the Italian tradition and mainstream, but mostly using her mother tongue to convey her message.
For this, she is inspired by Italian olds school artists and by new R&B songwriters such as Ainé, her teacher for two years and one of the representative artists in the Italian neo-soul scene. Her last singles "Margherite" and "Via (Runnin' Away)" anticipate the debut EP "Intro-Versi", an introspective journey that meets her need for self-understanding and growth.
Out now the last single from Anita Cane Violins' upcoming debut EP "Intro-Versi". The Italian singer-songwriter has scheduled the release for the next January. "Via (Runnin' Away)" has the collaboration of Ainé (Arnaldo Santoro) and Mixk (Michele Beneforti), well
known musicians in the Italian underground neo-soul scene.
The song is about the artist's relationship with Inspiration, described as an elusive lover.
Anita takes a step further in merging the modern black music sound and attitude with an Italian style, trying to give her original contribution to the Italian underground R&B scene.
