Kytes Releases New Single "Hello (And Its Christmas)"

Kytes is a Munich-based German indie band that arose from the 2015 creation of Blind Freddy. Their sound has been described as a blend of indie and electro-pop. Since the end of the 2000s, the band's four members, Michael Spieler (vocals, electric guitar), Timothy Lush (drums), Kerim ke (guitar, keyboard), and Thomas Sedlacek (electric bass, synthesiser), have performed under the moniker Blind Freddy. The band renamed itself, Kyte, in May 2015.

A few months later, their single Inner Cinema was released, for which they got a $10,000 Australian dollar prize from the University of Canberra for Song of the Year. This was followed by the track On the Run, which was filmed for a music video in Brighton. The Milky Chance label Lichtdicht Records released the EP On the Run in November 2015. Heads and Tales, the debut album of Filter Music, was released in September 2016 and distributed by Sony Music. Kytes won the New Music Award in December 2016. They have been the official sponsors of the Fürstenfeldbruck technical and vocational school at "School without Racism, School with Courage" since 2019.

Kytes sold-out European tour, #1 Hype Machine chart position, and over 50 million streams attest to the indisputable skill of Michael Spieler, Timothy Lush, Kerim Ke, and Thomas Sedlacek. With a slew of new recordings and a European tour set to begin this summer, including a series of UK performances in January 2022, the band continues to enchant.

The band is known for their peppy-paced songwriting and captivating melodies, drawing on inspirations ranging from 80s-inspired pop, indie, and disco. KYTES' Christmas single "hello (and it's Christmas")" is released just in time for Christmas and the holiday season. The song, which pays homage to "Santa Baby" and "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," gives a hopeful perspective for the future. The song has a 60s vintage vibe to it and praises the time spent with family and friends with a wink full of excitement for the big "party" under the Christmas tree.
