Talk & Talk does the job correctly and as it should. fromis_9 recently went ahead with a major change with their management, this might seem confusing and even frustrating to other people, but I honestly hope this change is for the better, seriously. What a nice way to greet a change with an amazing song! A brilliant one at that!

Talk & Talk goes to fromis_9's FLOVER apartment and mumbles how conviently everything is there. Each night, the group constantly talks to one another, signifying a deep connection between each one of them. I mean we've had that feeling of loneliness and couldn't just wait but to call each other's friends when we feel so. Certainly, the lyrics hit the sweet nostalgic spot for me.

The instrumentation is honey sweet. It feels comfy, luscious and heavenly. Every synthline perfectly hits the angelic spot in each ear. The reverberations of each electronic instrument is like eating a sweet but smooth chocolate fudge. Your enveloped in the moment of absolute delight and delicacy. Talk & Talk doesn't force its listeners to dwell too much in the feeling and leaves more creative cadences in the field. fromis_9 has mastered the classic pop record.

Its vocals maybe coated with autotune but that doesn't make the song lopsided, drunk or maybe even robotic at the least. It adds the feeling of delight, excitement and anticipation. Just like what you would expect to hear from a friend over the phone. The musical direction is so commanding that it holds the song so close together to perfection. It knows where it wants to go, it is never lost. It is straightforward. fromis_9 really delivers the talk.

Of course, as high of a caliber these lyrics, instrumentations, executions, directions, structure, cohesion, cadence and production are it is not of a clean slate. There will always be something bothering to a degree. It's not really affecting me, or anything, but I would say the mixing could do a little more posh to it. It sounds dated on this mix, so a more well rounded and well heard mix will be of improvement.

Now, I know people will not like me for saying this but, I have seen a dozen folks say they are tired with synthpop, synthwave, and anything alternative electronic or maybe alternative pop. So for that reason, some audience will really not like the song for its squeaky clean dynamics and the musical style. The song does have a very stable dynamic to it, that it doesn't necessarily procure a drop, elevation or height to it.

Overall

I love fromis_9. To Heart, DKDK, Love Bomb, Feel Good, WE GO are all trademark songs from one of the most consistent girl groups in the music industry. They have tried many more adventurous stuff like FUN! which definitely shocked me and polarized me in many ways. This goes to show how much the team at fromis_9 loves their work. They provide the best and great production team behind them.

Talk & Talk joins the greatest discography one can have in this modern age of music. Despite many groups resorting to easy ways of catering to the general kink the GP has on Trap and lopsided lifeless music, many groups still provide the greatest quality and will continue to do so. I pray, fromis_9 more commercial success and critical acclaim!
