[New post] Track Spotlight – After We Ride (Brave Girls)

After We Ride is the monumental closure of Brave Girls' supposed finale, We Ride. As we all know, Brave Girls is back from the grave as Rollin was a commercial success due to the Korean military. CHI MAT BA RAM proved to be the perfect successor to the Brave Girls' amazing discography, it was another critical acclaim and universal success. After We Ride is another smash hit, perfecting the Alternative Rock sound with heavenly vocals, and strong electric guitars. You'll be sober and crying while listening to this.
After We Ride opens the song with an amazing choral harmonization of Brave Girls and an instant chant opener. Yuna and Eunji open the song to a fabulously heartbroken state. Their vocals are full of emotion and authenticity that is so hard to see these days. The pre-chorus jolts to embrace the heightened tension, it accelerates to the beautiful chant-chorus-hook pattern of the song. We really feel every passion poured in the tipsy session.
The lyrics are breathtakingly beautiful, it follows an amazingly cliched but relatable story of agony and heartache felt by the girls in their past relationship. The cohesiveness of the lyrics are as smooth as butter (pun unintended), it was free-flowing, fluid and a classic. This should be how you write love songs. Follow a storyline.
The instrumentation is beyond scenic and even throws you to nostalgia. The synth-infused punk pop style of the song gives such bittersweet and grungy taste to the listeners, giving them a journey they never expected to hear. The perfect blend of emotions and technical creativity this track allows is beyond artistic merit. I cannot give it enough credit. It just takes you where you need to feel everything. The spectacular guitar solo surrounded by synth pads and synthlines in the outro are wickedly beautiful. It is an amazing song to feel.
The vocals of Brave Girls give this cathartic and languid feel you shall never find in today's lambasted music scene. It is sad, depressing and at the same time liberating. It mashes the two elements of parting and freedom into the perfect vocal blend you really need to experience. I cannot overblow anymore adjectives into how refreshing this song feels. You just have to hear it.
The musical direction of After We Ride is stable and straightforward. It does somehow slightly decay on its structure as it seems generic but still pretty excellent for a pop smash hit. It's musical cohesion is on par with American hits and it does the song so much justice for what it truly deserves. It's mixing and mastering is rather normal, but gives the much needed elements forward rather than just mush it all up. The song's cadence is breathtakingly legendary. It is so rhythmic and flowering with vibrance. The contrasts are ever piercing and gorgeous. I cannot even believe a song can posess this perfectness. Finally, the musical style and production are tuned to classic masterpieces. It just becomes one, right in front of you.
Overall
After We Ride is like a flower. Blissfully opening in the most rambunctious way of all emotional states. It is a garden of sadness but freedom, a land of hope but pain and it lingers on until you find peace. It is a truly perfect classic.
